Programs Spring 2017

TTP Race Training

EB group

This is the OTC's signature program that trains you from start to finish, guiding you to your goals. You'll be part of a training group which will meet once per week with your coach for a two hour workout from May through August. We have lots of classes to choose from: Monday through Thursday at 6, 7 or 8pm or 615am on Tuesday or Thursday!  All classes are held at our home at #10 Hamilton and feature a high intensity indoor spin class, with coaching on technique and pacing, followed by a transition run, muscular strength training and flexibility. It's like doing a mini-triathlon each week with your coach. There is much more to the TTP too, including: unlimited drop-in's, bike fits,
group bike rides, specialized training equipment....all included in the cost!

Open Water Swim Program

ows

It's the scariest part of triathlon but it doesn't have to be; like anything, familiarity is the key. Our open water program helps you to learn the key skills and do race simulations to gain confidence, comfort and fitness. Each workout will include coaching, drills and practice in key skills such as sighting, turning and swimming in a crowd. Most swims take place on Saturday mornings. When there is a major event on Saturday, we move the swim to the Wednesday evening before. The open water swims are included as part of our annual swim or our special Open Water Plus Summer Membership.

Our swims take place off the windsurf beach at Britannia in water that is as close to walkable depth as we can ensure.  Groups meet on the beach preceeding the assigned time unless conditions are questionable in which case the coach will be in the parking lot to advise.  Workouts are roughly one hour in duration.

Plus: With this membership you get to take part in all of the OTC's outdoor fun!  That means not only the swims but the group rides and free events as well.   Plus, enjoy member privileges for our always competitive fall registration period. Your membership will commence on May 8th so you won't miss out bike clinic.

We're very excited to announce that our swim program now has it's own micro-site!

About

We are very excited to announce that the annual OTC Tremblant spring training camp is a go!  This year, we are very fortunate to secure accomodations at the JB Ski Club.  This co-op club is one of the last remaining privately owned residences to be situated within throwing distance of the main village.  The lodge features right-of-way access to the Ironman swim course, a private bridge with direct access to the upper village, and a gorgeous forested surrounding.

You will be responsible to bring and/or pay for your own food.

Coaches

OTC coaches will be leading group rides, runs and swims right on the Tremblant course and providing expert advice along the way.  As well, OTC coaches will be hosting sessions to highlight key points you need to know to execute a successful race at the Tremblant 70.3, 140.6, or 5150 including:

  • Proper Pacing
  • Key points of the course
  • Pre race and race day nutrition
  • Mental Preparation

Even if you aren't doing a Tremblant race this year or even any a race at all, feel free to come on out and take part in the activities...or just hang out and be inspired by your fellow clubmates.
